Ministries

Through the Holy Spirit we have all been blessed with gifts for building up the Body of Christ, The Church. As contained in the mission statement parishioners at Christ the King strive "To grow in holiness through Service, Prayer, Evangelization, and Community Life." The following ministries provide wonderful opportunities for parishioners of all ages to return the first fruits of their gifts to our Lord. Browse through the list below to learn about the ministries and how they are making a difference.   • Coffee & Donuts - Hosting the coffee & donuts table after the 7:30 & 10 am masses. (Periodic)

  • Wine and Cheese - Hosting the wine & cheese table one a month after the 4:30 pm mass. (Periodic)

  • Women’s Bridge Club - Bridge club, meets on Thursdays. (Weekly)

  • Knights of Columbus - Spiritual growth through meetings and community projects. (Monthly)

  • Feast of Christ the King - Pot luck celebrating the Feast of Christ the King. (Annual)

  • St. Vincent de Paul Society - Outreach activities & support to those in need. (Twice monthly)

  • Choir (vocal & bell) (adult & children) - Singing & playing at mass & special occasions (weekly Sept - May)

  • Lector - Reading from the pulpit during the Eucharistic celebration. (Periodic)

  • Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist - Distributing communion during mass & visiting hospitalized and home bound parishioners. (Periodic)

  • Altar Server - Assisting with the Eucharistic Celebration. (Grades 4 through 8, both CTK  & Public school students) (Periodic)

  • Senior Meals - Shopping & preparing hot meal & sack lunches. (Monthly & Weekly)

  • Jesse Tree - Collecting & delivering Christmas gifts to needy. (Annual)

  • Habitat for Humanity - Construction of housing for needy. (Periodic)

  • Religious Education Instruction - Teaching public school students. (Weekly - Sept. through May)

  • Usher - Assisting at mass. (Periodic)

  • Greeter - Welcoming people and they enter church. (Periodic)

  • Mary’s Prayer Time Group - Reciting of Rosary & prayers. (Weekly)

  • Men’s Spiritual Group – Spiritual growth through readings, videos and group interaction (Weekly)

  • Parish Office Support - Assist with projects, computer & data entry, graphics (Periodic)

  • Parish Pastoral Council – Work with pastor to promote spirituality & enrich services (Monthly)

  • Parish Finance Council – Advise pastor on financial management and operation of parish (Monthly)

  • Opportunities outside of the Parish:

    • The Catholic Worker Soup Kitchen – Food & clothing for the homeless – 1615 Ogden Street.

    • Father Woody’s Haven of Hope – Food & clothing & showers for the homeless – 1101 W. 7th Avenue.

    • Gabriel House - Volunteers supporting pregnant women & fund raising. 1341 Oneida Street.

    • Alternatives Pregnancy Center - Volunteers supporting pregnant women & fund raising.

    • Samaritan House – Shelter & food & clothing & rehabilitation for the homeless – 2301 Lawrence Street.

    • Colorado Department of Corrections – teachers & mentors - www.doc.state.co.us

    • "Making Choices" – mentoring programs for women at the CO Women’s Prison - 303.383.1610.
