Dear Parishioners:
Today we celebrate the solemnity of the Ascension of Our Lord. This solemnity celebrates the day that Christ, in the presence of His apostles and by his own power, ascended bodily into Heaven. The Ascension occurred on the 40th day of Easter, so it falls on a Thursday; however, in most dioceses in the United States, the celebration of the Ascension has been transferred to the following Sunday, six weeks after Easter.
I have always thought that the Ascension has a lot in common with Christmas. At Christmas we celebrate that the Son of God leaves the glory of heaven to become man on earth. On the solemnity of the Ascension we celebrate the return of Jesus as a man, in his resurrected body, to the glory of heaven. The circle is closed.

Electronic Offertory Giving
Christ the King is now offering electronic Offertory giving by using a credit/debit card or deductions directly from a bank account. This new program means relief from the hassle of locating your offertory envelopes and writing those checks. There is no fee to use this service and automatic contributions greatly benefit the church by providing a predictable flow of revenue and the expense of the current paper offertory process. This program should be a "win-win" for both parishioners and the church. Enrollment forms are available in the church, parish office, or by going to
www.faithdirect.net. Enrollment is secure, the parish code is CO412.
Call the parish office for more information, 303.388.1643.
